As I walked out of Hashtag 98, I was only a 3-minute walk away from Lleras Park, where the nightlife scene in Medellín is.  Hashtag 98 is on the high-end side in the El Poblado district, so dining options are abundant and interesting, and there are shiny malls and cultural sites, such as Poblado Park nearby.  

It is just a walk away from the bars and shops of Provenza, and a metro station, Poblado, to get into the rest of the city.  Families love a 10-minute taxi to the Santa Fe Zoo, and for the business traveller, the hotel is only 1.9 miles away from Olaya Herrera Airport.

Upon entering my room, I was impressed by how modern and Scandinavian in design the space was. The 98 allergy-free rooms are each designed with a minimalist theme, comfortable beds, and nice views of the city. My air-conditioned room also included a flat-screen TV, free Wi-Fi, coffee maker, refrigerator, and safe. The private bathroom had a shower, hairdryer, and free toiletries, and was very clean. Some of the rooms are compact so I would recommend upgrading to a Deluxe Suite (301 square feet) for added space.

Culinary Excellence at Amena Restaurant

Dining at Amena was one of my highlights during my time at the facility. This on-site restaurant integrates traditional Mediterranean and Colombian flavors and offers a culinary experience you cannot get anywhere else. For breakfast they had a breakfast buffet from 6:30 AM to 10:30 AM with fruits, assorted juices and juices, and vegetarian options. The dinner menu had fusion cuisine with Colombian local ingredients. The service was fantastic and staff like Maria Fernanda made each meal special. The restaurant was conveniently close to the lobby.

The 24-hour front desk, housekeeping, and restaurant staff were all pleasant and very attuned to my hydration and dining needs.
